About the Podcast
Propensity: A True Crime Anthology Podcast is a scripted narrative true crime podcast hosted and produced by Rorie Jane McCormack. Each season curates a series of true crime cases related to a single theme. The theme of Season 1 is Captivity and explores cases of human captivity in various settings, such as child abduction, familial confinement, and human exhibits. New episodes are released every two weeks on a Tuesday, while in season. Propensity is available wherever you get podcasts. Propensity: A True Crime Anthology Podcast is currently on hiatus, and will return with a brand new season and theme in late 2024.
About the Host
Rorie Jane McCormack is a writer, editor and podcast producer from Dublin, Ireland. She holds a BA degree in Journalism, and an MA in Media Communications. Rorie has been interested in true crime for as long as she can remember. She has always had a fascination with the darker side of human nature, and has been drawn to dark history, historical crime, unsolved mysteries, and other real-life events. Her favourite fiction genres include stories of horror, sci-fi, fantasy, and anything involving time travel.
Above all else, Rorie is a storyteller, who values well-researched and well-told stories. She hopes that this attention to detail, truth and accuracy is reflected in her work while balancing respect and compassion for the individuals whose stories are being told.
Propensity: A True Crime Anthology Podcast is exclusively researched, written, hosted, edited, and produced by Rorie, with expert supervision by her petite black cat (pictured), who acts as Assistant Producer of the series. Assistant Producer Millie is present for the recording of every episode and for much of the editing process. Rorie is currently working on two books, a true crime non-fiction anthology based on the first season of Propensity, and a poetry and prose collection. Both books are set for publication in 2024.
